How our inclusive, play-based football and movement sessions support children’s early development.
How we align
The government’s Best Start in Life strategy focuses on improving child development, strengthening family services, widening access to high-quality early education and helping more children achieve a good level of development by age five.
Little Crocs is an independent provider rather than a government programme. Our work complements these aims by bringing developmentally appropriate physical activity into places families already know and trust.
What this looks like
Football, multi-sports and active play develop balance, coordination, spatial awareness and positive movement habits.
Children practise listening, following instructions, expressing themselves and communicating with adults and other children.
Supportive group activities build confidence, resilience, turn-taking, teamwork and a sense of belonging.
Joining routines, responding to instructions, making choices and participating in a group support skills children use when they begin school.
We adapt activities, communication and expectations so children with different needs and abilities can participate meaningfully.
Working through family hubs, children’s centres, schools and community venues makes trusted activities easier for families to access.
We create welcoming opportunities for children to move, communicate, play and build confidence, while working alongside the local services and professionals supporting their wider development.
